Lord of the Pings: Wi‑Fi Client Network Discovery

One does not simply connect to the Wi-Fi. Before client devices can use wireless networks, they first need to discover and associate to the network’s access points.

While the introduction of the 6 GHz band brings precious new channels to Wi-Fi, it also brings new challenges! Embark on an epic quest to understand the new 6 GHz client discovery methods. Joining us for this webinar is Wi-Fi wizard Rasika Nayanajith, ECSE instructor and celebrated blogger in the world of wireless networking.

Even the smallest protocol can change the course of the future of Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi 6E introduces one new out-of-band discovery method to rule them all: Reduced Neighbor Report (RNR) that allows client devices to discover 6 GHz networks without scanning all 59 channels.

Plus, as a Tolkien of our appreciation for joining the webinar, you’ll have a chance to win some Ekahau swag! We thought you’d like the ring of that.

Tune in to learn:

  • Benefits and drawbacks of the major Wi-Fi client network discovery methods
  • How to effectively troubleshoot wireless network discovery issues
  • The difference between in-band and out-of-band discovery methods
  • How to do a packet capture on 6 GHz with Ekahau to identify 6 GHz client discovery
